The Executive Committee

The Executive Committee meets more frequently than the Board and deals with much of the day to day running of ACC through supporting and advising the Chief Executive. In addition to the Chair and Deputy Chair who may attend whenever they wish to, the members of the Executive are:-

greta Greta Randle is CEO of the Association. Her role has changed since the appointment of Ruth as Director of Operations. Having been with ACC since 2007, Greta is now taking on different responsibilities. As part of the future strategic direction of ACC, Greta will be doing much more marketing and promotion of ACC. The strategic direction still lies within the CEO role together with the board. However, Greta will be across the UK not only meeting members, but also speaking with potential members, potential affiliated organisations and churches.

Ruth Nelson, Director of OperationsRuth Nelson is Director of Operations meaning that she oversees all the day to day running of ACC, including managing the Executive Committee and staff at Head Office. Ruth’s background is 10 years experience of management and planning in small and medium sized private companies and 11 years working in NHS and Local Government management in such areas as NHS Walk in Centre, Heath Service Commissioning and as a Regeneration Manager in a deprived area of Coventry, where she put in a range of health, leisure, social care and community safety projects.
Ruth is also a befriender volunteer with Care for the Family’s “A Different Journey” project, which helps people who, like her, have lost their partner through death at an early age. Ruth enjoys the theatre and travelling with her two children.

john John Nightingale is the Director of Professional Standards which includes Accreditation and Training Standards as well as being heavily involved in representing ACC in talks about Regulation. ACC buys a certain amount of John’s time from his principle employer, the Manna House in Northampton where he has served for 24 years and is the Director. The work there includes a bookshop, a book wholesaling business and flats for homeless people as well as the counselling and training ministry.
John serves the Community Funding Advisory Panel of the Northamptonshire County Council and is on the Executive of CVS Northamptonshire. He is a keen golfer playing now off 6. He is married to Val (who works part time for ACC as PA to the Accreditation team). They have three grown up children and a grandchild.

Sean CharlesworthSean Charlesworth has experience of membership and knowledge of ACC over a number of years, but in addition has also served as a network representative in the North West. In his ‘day job’ Sean is a minister at the large Elim church in Coventry, developing the pastoral and counselling work.
Sean will bring many skills, knowledge and ideas to the executive committee in a very enthusiastic and inimitable way. He will also ensure that the committee retains an element of humour as he succeeds Syd Platt in this role.

Teresa Onions will be the Director of Pastoral Care from March 2012. Meanwhile all Pastoral Care queries can be passed to Ruth Nelson.
